I am the host of a one-hour public affairs program on Community Radio WEFT 90.1 in Champaign IL. The program is called "Disability Beat" and covers a wide variety of disability news and issues. It focuses on social justice, community supports, inclusion, freedom and choice.
I'm a Disability Awareness Coach and am about to launch a new community radio show called "In Our Shoes - Step by Step to Accessibility". I'll be hosting a variety of topics and guest interviews intended to spread the word about the benefits of accessibility and the presence of community resources for people with disabilities. Starting September 2008, tune in to http://www.WhiStleRadio.com on Tuesdays at 9:00 am and Sundays at 2:30 pm Eastern to catch our show!
My firm also does Disability Awareness/Accessible Customer Service Training for organizations motivated to break down barriers to accessibility for people with disabilities.
As a Maximum Life & Business Coach, I provide 1-on-1 coaching support & self-advocacy training to people with disabilities who are experiencing health, life or employment challenges.
I look forward to connecting with you Vicki!

Thanks for thinking of me, but I am probably not the one to speak on this subject. I would recommend Larry Wanger of the program "Disability Nation" who can be reached through his website at disabilitynation.com.
Nice to meet you Vicki. My youngest son, Zyon has Down syndrome. I have been advocating for the disabled community for 3+ years. I use my voice on the show to help promote awareness for various disabilities as well as other projects.
Thank you for your voice in the special needs community, Vicki!

It seems that you might be a great guest to have on Tilley Talks Travel.
Travelling with disabilities has been a subject we have covered from time to time, but never with such an authority as your good self.
Please let me know if you would be interested
